Yesterday afternoon, a cyclist in his 60s tragically died after a collision with a lorry in Brixton.
Scotland Yard said they were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at around 4.15pm on Monday to “Mervan Road at the junction with Effra Road.”
Officers attended the scene along with the London Fire Brigade, with Effra Road being closed in both directions.
They added:
Sadly, despite the efforts of emergency services, the cyclist, a man in his 60s, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
“The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.”
Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage is asked to call police on 101, quoting CAD 4830/14Oct.
