A huge police presence is currently trying to disperse large groups of young people after an incident in the Brixton Dominoes Community Centre, on the corner of Coldharbour Lane and Moorlands Road.
Around 8.30pm tonight, witnesses heard and saw large groups of people screaming as they fled the enclosed garden event space, spilling out into the adjacent streets.
Police and ambulances arrived on the scene some time later, and we counted around 40 officers trying to disperse the crowd westwards along Coldharbour Lane.
Update 22.20: Two Territorial Support Group vans have joined the large police presence. Coldharbour Lane is currently blocked by the junction with Valentia Place.
Update 2.30am Sunday: the police told us that a 16 year old girl had advertised her birthday party on social media and this was responsible for the huge crowds turning up at the community centre.

Incident Details: Dear Partners,On Saturday 28th June 2025 at 2137 police received multiple calls for disorder in Coldharbour Lane, SW9. This resulted in police units arriving on scene and calling for urgent assistance due to aggression shown from a crowd of approximately 300 people that were leaving a party.
As such, authority was given for a dispersal under Section 35 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
This included the area bounded by Milkwood Road, Loughborough Road, Ackerman Road, Lothian Road, Camberwell New Road, Clapham Road, Bedford Road, Kings Avenue, Christchurch Road and Norwood Road.
This was authorised by A/Insp Smith from 2151 hours until 2351 hours. Local officers supported by officers from the MPS Territorial Support Group were able to then disperse the crowds from Coldharbour Lane.
Two people were arrested for public order offences and assault against an emergency worker. Further calls of disorder were then received on Brixton Road outside McDonalds. The time for the dispersal authority was then extended to last until 0700 hours on 29th June 2025. This further authority was provided by A/Insp Hard.
