Coldharbour Lane is not a safe place to be for street crossing lights.
Earlier this year, a set got completely flattened on the junction with Atlantic Road with the broken remains left as a pedestrian obstacle course for the following nine days.
This morning I came across the latest victim, with the crossing lights on Coldharbour Lane and Gresham Road taking a shunt strong enough to dislodge the light fittings on to the pavement and leave the pole looking decidedly crooked.,
There was no evidence of what caused the accident, but this is a junction that has seen its far share of accidents.
Back in 2007, a bus driver misjudged the angle of the turn into Gresham Road and crashed straight into the shop on the corner.
Police tape was wrapped around the damaged lights.
