Reams of police tape were being unfurled in central Brixton a few moments ago, as a suspicious package caused the westbound stretch of Brixton Road from Atlantic Road to the tube station to be sealed off.
When Buzz arrived on the scene around 6.55pm, coffee drinkers from Pret were being told to leave the shop, and the adjacent mobile phone stores were also being evacuated.
As well as the pavement being taped off, officers were also closing the road to traffic.
