Last night, emergency services were called to Coldharbour Lane in Brixton after a pedestrian was hit by a car, which then then skidded across the pavement and smashed into the wall of a house.
The incident, which took place on the corner of Coldharbour Lane and Valentia Place, was almost identical to a car crash two years ago, prompting Coldharbour Police to tell TfL, “this road needs sorting. ”

This morning, Coldharbour Police tweeted: ;
Have just had this sent to us. Another crash on Coldharbour Lane. Identical spot to one only a short while back. Won’t make judgements on cause…
@TfL this road needs sorting. This could have been a family or young kids walking along that bit of pavement.

They later added:
A pedestrian was reportedly struck by the car and was also taken to hospital. He is reported to have non life threatening/changing injuries. The report made by officers at the scene will be investigated by Traffic Unit. CAD8367/05JUN20 refers to incident.
No doubt you see the large numbers of vehicles double parked next to the car wash at weekends which helps neither driver/rider visibility or pedestrian safety. This needs to be enforced more.
